Skin rejuvenation without surgery

There are numerous cosmetic anti wrinkle treatments using the latest injectables to remove lines and wrinkles, including Dermal Fillers such as Collagen, Radiesse, Emerval, Sculptra, Teosyal, Belotero, etc.; Anti-ageing injections including BnTx, Boccouture etc., used as frown line relaxants; IPL Photo-rejuvenation & Laser for collagen stimulation; Chemical Peels & Microdermabrasion for exfoliation; and more recently the introduction of thread lifts and Exilis Elite (to replace Thermage RF and the Titan Laser) for tissue tightening; Velasmooth and Oxyjet Microdermabrasion etc for cellulite reduction and Dermaroller (skin needling)  treatments. Clearly in this expanding field, a Dermatology trained doctor will be able to advise you on the most appropriate cosmetic treatment plan that is best suited to your particular needs.

Our skin is the outward appearance of who or what we are, or would like to be. But it is more than just a simple cover. It is the largest organ of the body - a complex and dynamic system that is vitally important to our health, and sometimes reflects it as well.

Skin rashes could be due to allergy or to viral infections or familial conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Skin lesions could be due to previous sun exposure causing skin damage, simple age related changes or may be just skin tags or moles, for example. It is clearly important to rule out skin cancer. A lump in the skin could be a multitude of diagnoses and do not always need to be excised. Clearly a diagnosis is the most important factor to establish, before then considering treating with a laser or with surgical excision, if appropriate. Dermatologists are expert specialists, not only of the skin, but also of allergic conditions such as contact dermatitis, hair problems such as alopecia (hair loss), and nail problems such as fungal nail disease etc.

Laser Treatments in Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic, Kent

The Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic offers laser treatments for Acne, Acne Scars, Hair removal, Tattoo Removal, Broken Veins and much more, by laser specialists in the heart of Canterbury, but also serving clients from other areas of Kent such as Ashford, Folkestone, Dover, Thanet and further afield.
Lasers work by emitting a very strong light of a single wavelength that is carefully matched to the absorption characteristics of the target tissue, whether this target be thread vein, hair or tattoo pigment, for example. The intense pulsed light is absorbed by the target and converted into heat thereby destroying the target. Because this destructive process is over in a tiny fraction of a second, there is little time for the heat to affect other tissue nearby, and because of this the risk of scarring is minimised. The Canterbury Skin and Laser clinic has several different lasers systems for a comprehensive range of skin and cosmetic treatments.
