Dermal Fillers

anti wrinkle injections kent

Hundreds of thousands of men and women in the United Kingdom regularly have dermal fillers. At Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic, we have years of experience administering injectable dermal fillers as medical skin specialists. Only board-certified dermatologists and aesthetic nurses with extensive experience in the field administer dermal fillers after conducting a thorough medical evaluation to determine if these procedures are safe for the patient.

ANTI-AGEING INJECTABLES

Using dermal fillers to cure wrinkles and fine lines is very common. In addition to treating excessive sweating, migraines, and tension headaches, dermal fillers can be an anti-ageing treatment to diminish dynamic wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Many studies have shown that dermal fillers are safe and effective, but it must be administered by a doctor or nurse at a clinic that has been authorised by the Care Quality Commission (like the one at the Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic).

Dermal fillers benefits are only temporary, often fading over four months; further treatments are required to keep the intended effect strong. After finishing therapy, you’ll return to normal in no time. In the days following the injection, some patients experience temporary side effects such as redness, bruising, and swelling. Possible side effects, such as a sagging eyebrow or puffy under-eyes, will be discussed during your appointment to reduce their severity. Our highly trained medical skin specialists have found that such adverse effects are uncommon. Depending on the individual, dermal fillers may take a few days to two weeks to fully take action.

Dermal fillers, when adequately injected, do not paralyse all facial expressions. A natural expression, rather than a frozen one, can be achieved by the precise placement of injections by our dermatologists, cosmetic specialists, and aesthetic nurses. Fillers enable targeted and specific reduction of muscle action, resulting in gradually softer lines and wrinkles and the appearance of younger, more vibrant skin. Injections must be administered with surgical precision to get optimal results with minimal adverse effects.

FILLERS FOR CLENCHING OF THE JAW AND GRINDING OF THE TEETH

Teeth grinding or jaw clenching is a common response to stress and anxiety. Facial and head pain are common complaints among those affected.

Dermal filler injections into the jaw muscles can reduce muscle tension and stop clenching and grinding of the teeth. This not only helps to preserve tooth enamel but also alleviates pain in the face and head. The effects will be noticeable within one to three days of treatment and last three to six months.

DERMAL FILLERS

When you want to improve your appearance quickly without changing it noticeably, dermal fillers are your best bet. They can be used to fill in thin lips, reduce the appearance of creases and folds, and even cover up scars. Lip and cheek tints are among the most popular uses, although they are also frequently used for the hands and decolletage. Dermal fillers can be used to treat a variety of facial wrinkles and folds, including smoker’s lines, nasolabial lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. They operate inside to restore the skin’s youthful appearance by boosting volume and softening wrinkles and creases.

There are two primary varieties of dermal fillers. Fillers made with Hyaluronic Acid and those made with other substances. The skin naturally contains a chemical called hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers like these are non-animal, biodegradable, and stable. Collagen and hyaluronic acid work together to maintain the skin’s elasticity, firmness, and plumpness in their youthful forms. At the Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic, you will discuss the optimal treatment strategy to get your desired result, which may involve a combination of fillers.

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin in the same way that anti-wrinkle injections are, so the effects are visible right away. Treatment sessions last around 30 minutes; most patients report being comfortable and pain-free throughout. However, applying an anaesthetic lotion can assist if you are anxious about the procedure. Dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid typically last between 8 and 12 months; however, they can last 18 months in some patients. Dermal fillers can range from extremely thin to quite thick, giving them a highly adaptable treatment for a wide range of wrinkle depths. Injection sites may be red, swollen, bruised, and sensitive immediately following therapy, although these side effects usually dissipate within a day or two.

Lip fillers are one of our most requested dermal filler treatments. Dermal fillers are a therapy we have used to repair the lips’ scars and improve the appearance of thin lips, uneven lip shape, and smoker’s lines. Learn more about the lip filler procedure we provide here.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Injectable treatments at Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic are administered only by highly trained professionals, reducing the potential for adverse effects. We will talk about why you want the treatment and what you want to achieve during your appointment. The Care Quality Commission ensures that Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic is secure.
The effects of an injectable treatment will be apparent almost immediately; however, the full effect may only be seen for a few days or weeks. Injectable anti-ageing treatments usually wear off after three to four months, but dermal fillers can last up to a year, depending on the area injected. Lip injections typically persist for about six months.
You’ll need to schedule an in-person appointment with an Aesthetic Doctor or Therapist to review your skin care issues and treatment goals. They will examine your skin and recommend a course of action based on their findings.
Patients with bruxism (the involuntary clenching or grinding of the teeth) or hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) may benefit from these injections. Consult a consultant dermatologist for advice on the best course of therapy if you suspect you have one of these disorders.
The majority of patients report that the procedure is comfortable for them. Muscle injections are given with tiny needles; thus, the pain may be comparable to a pin prick. A local anaesthetic cream can be used for those uncomfortable with needles, but it must be applied for at least 30 minutes to be effective. Injection sites may become red or bruised immediately after therapy, but this often subsides within 24 to 48 hours.
The legislation in the UK for those offering injectable treatments is practically non-existent. You can go to a plastic surgeon, a dermatologist, a cosmetic doctor, a dentist, a nurse, and even a chiropodist, a beautician, or anyone who advertises the treatment! Non-medical practitioners will not be able to look after you or prescribe if anything unexpected happens. Additionally, qualified practitioners can use an enzyme to dissolve the filler, should that be advised. We recommend that you only go to qualified and experienced injectors.

At Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic, our dermatologists, cosmetic doctors and aesthetic nurses have provided lip filler treatments for many years. They are all qualified and very experienced with dermal filler treatments. All injectable aesthetic procedures should be performed in a clinical setting with aseptic techniques. We do not believe hairdressing salons, gyms, or someone’s home offer this clinical standard. The Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic is CQC regulated, ensures it has met the standard required for a medical clinic facility.
