DERMAL FILLERS

cheek fillers kent

Dermal fillers, sometimes known as “cheek fillers,” are used to add fullness to the face, highlight the cheekbones, and soften the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Because of the added volume above and around the cheekbones, the appearance of the bone structure is improved.

In addition to restoring youthful fullness and diminishing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers can be used to define specific areas on the hands, decolletage, and face. Dermal fillers are one of the most popular cosmetic operations for both men and women due to the excellent effects they may generate and the growing understanding of the role of cheekbones in the overall architecture of the face.

HOW DO DERMAL FILLERS WORK?

CONSULTATION WITH AN AESTHETIC DOCTOR

To enhance the appearance of one’s cheek bones, fillers can be used to add volume to the area. Hyaluronic acid is injected into certain areas of the cheeks with a tiny needle to create this effect. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring component in the skin that contributes to its lush, firm appearance.

Fillers are injected into specific areas of the face, including the cheeks, from the corner of the mouth to the auricle. During your consultation, our aesthetic doctor will examine your skin and ask about your aesthetic goals to determine the best placement for your cheek fillers. If you want a subtle improvement to your appearance, our skilled doctor will ensure the results complement your other facial traits.

The filler in your cheeks will begin to take shape immediately following your treatment, but the final effects may take up to two days to appear. There is no recovery time expected; however, bruising and swelling are possible. For the first several days after treatment, it is recommended that you refrain from heavy exercise and sleeping on your cheeks.

If you have a history of chronic health issues or are a smoker, you may want to reconsider getting cheek fillers. Additionally, you shouldn’t get them if you’re pregnant or nursing, have a bleeding issue or are allergic to any of the components in cheek fillers.

BENEFITS OF CHEEK FILLERS

Nowadays, patients can choose from a variety of cosmetic procedures, including cheek implants and surgical facelifts, that promise to give them fuller cheeks and more prominent cheekbones. However, they typically involve surgery, which carries increased risk, a longer recovery time, and permanent effects. Compared to invasive procedures, hyaluronic acid cheek fillers have numerous benefits:
  • No recovery period after treatment
  • Can be done as a walk-in, walk-out procedure
  • Immediate and long-term benefits are noticed after six to twelve months
  • Slow build up over time to achieve the desired results
  • Subtle, natural looking results
  • Almost no chance of infection
